The terms Syrians in Syria search for most frequently on Google show their desperation to leave the war torn country and move to Europe. It also involves terms on how to deal with some medical emergencies. It is just so sad that the war in Syria has dragged on this long, gotten so complicated and left millions suffering.
Al Jazeera in a findings they conducted revealed that the top Google searches coming out of Syria have revealed that Syrians are desperate to flee their war-torn country and many are still planning to seek refuge in Europe.
AJ+ spoke to Google to find out what Syrians are searching for and found that, according to search volumes over the past fortnight, people have been searching for their closest hospitals, how to treat burns at home and how to perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
But the most popular search terms were about finding a way to Europe, and more specifically, how to reach Germany.
According to AJ+, the top two searches coming out of Syria are
“immigration to Germany” and “asylum in Germany“.
Syrians are also trying to figure out how to get to Germany, firstly by sea, with the terms “Greece map” and “sea separating Turkey and Greece” the next top searches.
They also want to see “maps of Europe in Arabic” and a “map of Germany”.
AJ+ also found that they are also trying to determine which route is the best to take by searching the distance between the Turkish cities of “Edirne and Izmir”, between “Izmir and Istanbul”, then
“Turkey and Greece”. Then, they want to know the distance on foot between “Macedonia and Serbia”.
As Hungary declares a state of emergency and uses force to prevent
people from entering its borders, the Google searches reveal that high volumes of Syrians are also looking for “news of Hungary and “Hungary Syrian refugees”.
The Islamic state appears to be growing stronger by the day and it seems the world is just sitting back and watching, even though that’s most likely not the case.
I’ve written previously about the horrible, cruel, medieval style executions which the Islamic State, ISIS has been carrying out. When I wrote about it, I was hopeful that they’ll be stopped but here we are, months after and it appears that the situation is even worsening.
The ISIS is notorious for slaughtering people like animals through different methods:
√ Random shooting
√ Throwing people from roof tops
√ Locking people in cages and drowning them
√ Starving people…
√ hanging people
the horrible list is endless!
You can view some of the pictures yourself:
The UK based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights puts the number of ISIS executions at 3,027 including 1,787 civilians and 74 children! Shocking!
Lest I forget, women are not left out too. Recently, reports came in that the ISIS beheaded two women and their husbands for seeking ‘non traditional’ health remedies.
The ISIS is undoubtedly growing bigger, stronger and fearless, disregarding every law of morality and humanity. The extent of even executing children! My God!
Something must be done to stop them and restore sanity to our world, to restore the dignity of humanity.
You will all agree with me that the world can not continue to appear to look on! The world must do something and that something has to be done now and it has to be done right. We have to save those vulnerable women and children fighting for their lives, just thinking of getting through everyday. I still think of those Yazidi girls, most of them raped and killed or forcefully married off! Most of them had to watch their family members die!
So, my dear readers, friends and servants of humanity, what do you think that ‘Something’ the world must do is?
Do you think the world (United Nations…) is doing the right thing, do you think they are doing enough, do you think they have to change strategy?

I’ve been following the Syrian crises since its onset, since the protests turned into a crackdown and then subsequently a full blown civil war and even up until Islamic extremists hijacked the fight against the Government and now that the Islamic State is relentlessly pushing for territorial gains in the country. All these have happened in the space of over three years.
Now, the world seems to be forgetting about the Syrian Crises and moving on to other seemingly ‘more pressing issues’ amongst which is the threat of the Islamic State. Russia and the U.S now fear that the Islamic State is gaining ground in Afghanistan.
But, that’s not the aim of this post. Call it a preamble if you wish.
I want to use this post to highlight the impact of the Syrian War on the country. I don’t want to say much. This picture says so much already.
Talk about the impact on Infrastructure, Housing, Health, Education; and most importantly, the people.
I just sit down and imagine how many billions of dollars, how many years and what it will take to get Syria back to its glorious self, that’s if it is ever going to he possible. What about the children? So young, forced to live as refugees, deprived of the joy of growing up and being proud of their homeland. How can they even be patriotic?
Its hard to swallow that 36% of hospitals have been destroyed! I don’t even want to start giving the depressing figures of the casualties.
And yet, the war is not over and we can’t even see the end in sight.
What’s left of Syria now and what will be left of it when the war is over?

What happens when the media gets tired of a story and the world attention shifts to seemingly ‘more important issues’?
It is so sad but it seems like this is the fate of the about 3.7 millions Syrian Refugees. I’ve written severely about the agony the Syrian refugees are passing through and I won’t get tired of highlighting their plight. Imagine the rude shock of being torn apart from your home, country and even from some loved ones and forced to flee to somewhere unknown, totally depending on charity for survival. Having to deal with shortages of food, extreme weather conditions, unsanitary or inappropriate shelter and inadequate eduction for your children. How pathetic!
Its been more that three years and the Syrian war keeps generating thousands of refugees and millions of internally displaced persons.
The UN has made it clear severally that it can not cope with the Syrian refugee disaster and aid agencies are struggling against all odds to fill the wide gap left but unfortunately, they too are largely overwhelmed.
Only a few countries have continued to bear the huge load of caring for the growing number of Syrian refugees – Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt and Turkey, most of which are even suffering from one type of internal conflict or the other.
I join Amnesty Intentional in their campaign #OpenToSyria to call on wealthy nations to open their arms and eyes and in fact everything to the plight of the Syrian Refugees. It should be seen as a responsibility to not only provide financial aid but help in the resettlement and rehabilitation of these extremely Vulnerable people in their respective countries. Let them consider it as a just service to humanity. The international community, wealthy countries in Europe especially, should do more for the Syrian Refugees. Irrespective of differences, we are all one, united by humanity!

Sadly, we are still talking about the Islamic State (ISIS) today, despite all the military efforts put in by the International Coalition consisting of about 40 countries.
So, what about the Islamic State again?
This time, the radical terrorist group which I consider to be one of ‘the greatest threats to humanity’ in the 21st century has carried out sickening executions of alleged offenders and also released the shocking images. It is hard to imagine crucifixion, stoning and throwing people to their deaths from roof tops as punishment for crimes, but sadly, these are the techniques employed by the Islamic State.
The Islamic State operates the strictest form of Sharia Law in the areas where it controls, mainly in Iraq and Syria. The painful thing about these grossly unjust executions is that the alleged offenders are accused and sentenced without any proper trial. Of course, the Islamic State has no acceptable justice system.
This is not the first time I’m posting pictures of ISIS brutality. I do this to highlight the deadly evil which the Islamic State represents and why the while world must join hands to destroy it. Let me first warn that these pictures are not suitable for all readers.
The first two pictures show two men being executed by crucifixion. These men were accused of being bandits and were brought to the site of execution in a pick up van, as people gathered to watch.
These next three pictures show a woman accused of adultery being stoned to death by Islamic State fighters carrying the flag of the caliphate.
These last to images show a homosexual man being thrown to his death from a roof top. This is the conventional way of them executing gay people, as this is not the first time the Islamic State is doing this.
Last year December, the Islamic state also executed two alleged gay men by throwing them from roof tops.
