‘Bring Back Our Girls’ campaign (pictures)

 

   The Bring back our girls campaign is really gaining support, as different international celebrities and notable figures lend their voices, mainly through social media.
We are all crying and demanding that these young, vulnerable girls be brought back and really appreciate their support.

     Celebrities around the world have voiced their outrage over the abduction of 276 schoolgirls in Nigeria last month, flooding social media with posts using the hashtag: #BringBackOurGirls.
Michelle Obama, Malala Yousafzai, Hilary Clinton, Angelina Jolie, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown are among those lending their support to the social media
campaign, which encourages military intervention to recover the girls who were kidnapped from their school by Boko Haram rebels in north-east Nigeria.

Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani education activist for fellow young girls, and Nobel Prize Winner told CNN that the kidnapped girls were her ‘sisters’.

  American award winning singers, Drake and Justin Timberlake joined the campaign by posting these pictures, saying that ‘real men dont buy women’

    The very popular American music Mogul and Rapper, Sean Diddy supported the campaign by posting this picture on Instagram.

  Mary J. Blige called for the release of the kidnapped girls with this picture she posted on Twitter :

Wife of Super star actor Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith expressed her solidarity by posting a photo from UNICEF on Twitter.

CNN show host, Piers Morgan has been actively involved in the campaign, calling on US and Europe to play active roles in ensuring the kidnapped Nigerian girls are brought back. See his tweet below:

  There have also been series of demonstrations both in Nigeria and outside Nigeria: London, New York, South Africa, Manchester….

   Nigerians really appreciate the solidarity and support shown by the international community to the situation. These girls need to be brought back home to their worry-stricken parents and relatives. They’ve been gone for almost three weeks now, and so much could have happened in that period. We cant keep silent! We call on the Nigerian Government and international community to do everything possible to #BringBackOurGirls
